Week 39: 1 Crazy Apartment; Not Enough Room

So this week has been a pretty ... interesting ... one. There were transfers on Wednesday, but neither Elder Pino or I got transferred, but something that did happen is that we got another companionship in Gosi. Now, as some background, Gosi was already one of the smallest areas in the zone, and President Hiatt called me last Monday and said that the area was being split, and asked me to draw the line. Holy smokes.

The new missionaries got here on Wednesday, and they're working in the more northern part of the area, that we haven't been able to work in all that much, which is actually great, because now that area and the people over there can get the focus it deserves.

This week we've been teaching the mom of a missionary that's serving right now. He and his sister are members, but no one else in the family is. She doesn't want us to call her sister or nanay (what you call older women here), she has us call her Tita, which just means aunt, as the Spanish speakers out there would know. We were teaching her about the Plan of salvation this week and we said to her that before we came to this earth we chose to follow Christ and his plan for us. The only thing we have to do now is choose him again.

2 Nephi 2:27 "Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself."

We can choose Christ, the Great Mediator of all men by following his commandments and example, and gain eternal life. this is the promise that God has made to us, and I'm so glad he has.

Love,
Elder Menzie

A very interesting game the relief society was playing involving a blindfold, a large pot lid, small bills, and menthol candies with chocolate on the inside.
