But this week's been pretty good. We've been keeping it pretty chill, in the sense that nothing overly crazy has happened to us in the past 7 days or so. We had splits with the Zone Leaders on Wednesday, which was a fun time. Their area is in the city, and I'm not gonna lie I was coveting their area pretty hard. There were so many people! so much transportation! I'll repent in a bit. They have a recent convert in their area from Las Vegas who doesn't really speak Tagalog, and we taught her in English, which you don't think would be weird for a native English speaker, but it was very, very weird.
This Saturday we had the baptismal interview of one of the people we're teaching, Gem-cer. He's 15 years old, and at first I was kinda hesitant about teaching him, just because his family isn't really interested at all, and he's only 15. but he kept coming to church, and he kept pestering us about teaching him, and he's got a good support system of friends (one of them being of the girl- variety). So we started teaching him. At first we were pretty concerned about his motivation, but as time has gone, Gem-cer has really shown his personal motivation, and when we taught him about Enduring to the End, he made it very clear that this was his choice, and even if all of his friends stopped coming to church, he was promising through his baptism that he was committed to discipleship. It was great to see this change inspired by his faith in our savior, Jesus Christ
