Just to start off, this has probably been the craziest transfer cycle of my whole mission. It's been super rewarding, and I love Santiago, but it's just been really weird.
Elder Walker is now in Idaho for 10 days, visiting his family and eating ALL the potatoes. I'm not even being mean, he would testify to that. I promise. It's good that he got the chance to go home, and council with all of them. He left on Friday, and Sunday afternoon, I got Elder Powell!
Elder Powell is super cool. He was in Manila for a hot minute eating Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, Krispy Kreme, and getting probed by Filipino nurses and doctors because of the parasites that gave him rashes and turned his hands into lobster claws. He thought he was gonna get sent home, because the doctors couldn't find out what was wrong with him, but there was a Christmas miracle, and Elder Powell got parasite meds, and now he's back and better than ever. It's great.
This email is kinds all over the place, but on Thursday, before Elder Walker left, we had meetings in Cauayan, and when we got back to Santiago, we and the 2 other companionships who rode the bus back with us knew he was leaving the next day, so we all went to KFC. it rained really hard though, and us Elders couldn't get a tricy to KFC, so we just booked it through the rain to KFC, and we got really wet.
Everyone have a good week, and remember to keep Elder Walker and his family in your prayers!
Love, Elder Menzie
